Netconference Presentation Solution

In today IT booming era, network connectivity has become part of our lives. Networking is also common among some of the electrical appliances which in the past, we can never in our wildest imagination believe a network port can be found in projector, television, refrigerator, washing machine and etc. Most companies are setup with LAN if not WiFi connection.

Traditionally, presentation in any meeting room can only be done through hard cable connection (Refer Diagram 1.0). In this setup, a VGA cable is connected one end to the projector while the other ends to the notebook. Users need to plug and unplug the VGA cable to their notebook and take turn to deliver their presentation. Common problem found in this setup is worn out VGA cable which affects image quality or no projection after excessive use. This not only interrupts the meeting flow but tarnish the company image if presentation to client is half way through. As such, replacement needs to be made frequently to ensure smooth meeting presentation.

If multiple users are required to present concurrently, the cabling work would be very complex, not to mention the cost of multiple devices (matrix switchers, splitters, switcher and etc) required for the switching. If more than one display (projector, LCD or plasma TV) is installed, more splitters and switchers are needed too. The more devices are added in, the poorer the image quality will become due to cable distance and signal loss. A typical setup that caters for 24 users presentation switching could easily cost RM 30,000 and beyond excluding displays. In view of the massive cabling work, more time is needed when troubleshooting for errors or problems. Typical problem facing this setup include: -

The VS-C52200 is designed to tap onto the widely available local area network (LAN) connectivity in any organizations to address the multiple users’ presentation requirement. It utilizes the Cat5 cable to transmit both video and audio signal to the display on LAN. One knows that there is no limit to the no. of users on the LAN environment. In any non Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) LAN setting, an IP address is all one needs to get connected and start presenting. Whereas in DHCP environment, IP address is automatically assigned to any connected notebook to link up in the LAN. Thanks to the LAN connectivity, wireless presentation for video and audio is now possible by simply connecting a wireless router to the LAN environment. With the ease of connectivity through LAN, guest / visitor presentation is easy, straightforward and manageable.

Each VS-C52200 is capable of handling two (2) displays in two different locations through its built-in network port (2 nos). Each port can be named according to the meeting room or classroom for easy identification. For add on security, it can even be password protected to limit access to unauthorized user. In other words, each VS-C52200 has two (2) different IP addresses to clearly distinguish two (2) different installed locations. For example, 192.168.100.111 is meant for display installed in meeting room 1 while 192.168.100.112 is meant for meeting room 2. User need to connect to the respective IP address in order to gain access to the display. When connected to the VS-C52200, the user will be prompted to install the software to connect to the unit.
